On Friday 4 August, the team at Just Desserts Yorkshire gave up their evening to team up with local charity, Bradford Community Kitchen, to serve hot meals to those living in food poverty.
The event held at Campbell House in Bradford, an emergency accommodation facility, was not only attended by the residents of Campbell House, but those who live in and around the Bradford area, with some travelling from outside the district.
Just Desserts Yorkshire sponsored the hot food buffet and provided a large selection of fresh fruit and drinks. Just Desserts very own hot treacle pudding with custard was also on the menu.
Kate William, General Manager of Just Desserts Yorkshire, said: “The response from those who attended the community kitchen touched us all and speaking to those who struggle on a daily basis left us feeling the need to do more in order to help fight poverty.”
“I am extremely proud of our team who all went above and beyond to help others and our thanks goes out to Abdul at Bradford Community Kitchen for giving us this opportunity.”
